A 3rd Grade TidBit

Here's a short tidbit of an exposition. I haven't gotten very far on it.

“Hi, Jill” said William.
“Oh, hi Will.” Jill replied. She took her jacket off and hung it on the hook by the door. William began to smile; he was talking to the prettiest girl in his 3rd grade class. She had light blonde hair and dreamy brown eyes with a tiny sparkle of green in them. She was short, but had the tallest opinion of anyone in the entire class. The teacher, Mrs. Herring, didn’t like Jill. Of course, the teacher’s favoritism was shoved in Will’s face. She liked Michael best, and everyone knew it. The boys would tease poor Mikey at recess for being the “Teacher’s Pet”. He hated it, and in return he would play with the girls. This made the other boys jealous. Jill would run up to Mikey and tell him that she wanted to build a sand castle, so every day at 12:15 when recess ended there would be a new masterpiece next to the hose bib. Jill liked to pretend there were unicorns living by the castle, and Mikey would knock down towers with his “c’lorful dragons”.
